Managed Forgejo

Own your forge.
We'll run it.

Fjord gives your team a dedicated, single-tenant Forgejo instance and runs the upgrades, the TLS, and the CI underneath it, so nobody on your team has to become the forge admin.

From $19/mo per instance. Not per seat. Cancel any time.

Same Forgejo. Someone else on call.

Self-hosting a forge is easy to start and expensive to keep. Fjord is the same open-source software, with the operational half moved to us.

Self-hosted, you own:

  • Upgrades and security patches
  • Database backups, and proving the restores work
  • TLS certificates and renewals
  • CI runner infrastructure
  • Storage and monitoring
  • The 2 a.m. page when the disk fills up

On Fjord, we run:

  • Forgejo updates, applied for you
  • Nightly off-site encrypted backups, 90-day retention (Team and Pro)
  • TLS handled end to end
  • CI runners we operate, with dedicated runners available as an add-on
  • The infrastructure underneath
  • On-call, so you are not

Self-hosting is still the right answer when policy requires the forge live on hardware you own. Everyone else is buying a second job.

A forge that is yours, run like a service.

Yours alone

A dedicated, single-tenant Forgejo on your own subdomain at <yourname>.fjord.host, or your own custom domain. Not a namespace on a shared server. No other tenant's data next to yours, and no shared corpus for anyone to mine.

Operated end to end

Every instance includes Forge Stewardship: upgrades, backups, monitoring, DNS and custom domains, mail, single sign-on, runners, migrations, and restores. The best ticket is the one you never open.

What stewardship covers

Bring your history with you

Forgejo's built-in migrator pulls from GitHub and GitLab over their APIs: repositories, issues, pull and merge requests, labels, milestones, releases, and wikis. Moving more than a handful of repos? Ask us to plan the cutover with you.

$19, $49, or $149 per instance per month. Add your whole team without a per-head charge, and run as many instances as you need.

Every instance ships with: Forgejo Actions CI on runners we operate · Pages static hosting that deploys from your workflows · custom hostnames · OIDC single sign-on on Team and Pro · nightly encrypted backups on Team and Pro · TOTP and WebAuthn two-factor.

Per instance, not per seat.

Each plan covers one dedicated Forgejo: its storage, its CI, and the level of stewardship that rides with it. Collaborators inside an instance are never a per-head charge.

Also honest: if you want free shared Forgejo hosting for open-source work, use Codeberg. We like Codeberg. Fjord is for teams that need their own supported instance.

Private by default, and yours to leave.

Single-tenant by construction

Your Forgejo runs on its own instance. Isolation is structural, not a setting.

No AI training, in the contract

We don't use your repositories or CI content to train or improve any machine-learning model. Section 6 of the Terms of Service commits us to it.

The full commitment

The region is your choice

Instances and CI runner VMs run in the region you select: EU Central (Falkenstein), United States, Asia Pacific (Singapore). Where each category of data lives, including backups, is documented in full.

Data residency

Backups you can check

Nightly off-site encrypted backups with 90-day rolling retention on Team and Pro, and a documented restore.

Security

An open exit

Forgejo is open source and GPL-3.0-or-later from v9 onward. Per-repo migration through the Forgejo API, plus a full forgejo dump archive on request. Nothing proprietary in the middle.

What we do not claim

No SOC 2, no ISO 27001, no contractual uptime SLA today. Support response targets are targets, not guarantees. If your procurement requires those, we are not the right fit yet, and we would rather say so here than in month three.

Fjord exists because teams across the Forgejo and Codeberg communities kept asking someone to run a reliable hosted Forgejo they could pay for. Why we built Fjord.

Fjord is operated from the United States by Raster & State LLC.

From zero to first PR.

Prefer a checklist? Start with the getting started guide.

  1. step 01

    Create your account

Sign up with email and 2FA. One Fjord Account works across the web, the iOS app, and fj.

  2. step 02

    Deploy an instance

Name it, choose a region, pick a plan. We bring up a dedicated Forgejo on your subdomain, with TLS.

  3. step 03

    Push code

fj repo clone, your existing git remote, the web UI, and the iOS app all see the same instance.

Own your forge. We'll run it.
